My new iMac just arrived on Friday and my current AOC external monitor doesn't work with it. I understand that this is an issue with the new iMacs but unfortunately didn't realise this before purchasing the iMac.

I am looking for a recommendation for a 24" monitor that will work. I don't want to spend a huge amount because its not necessary for my needs. Budget no more than £200 really.

If you want any sort of decent text rendering on macOS, you need a “4K” or higher-resolution monitor.

List of ≈24” "4K" monitors

Most of these have since been discontinued though.

I’ve used the Asus MG24UQ and Dell P2415Q and found both to be solid. They don’t have USB-C inputs though, so you need a USB-C to DisplayPort cable to hook up either of them to the iMac.
