Hi all, here's my "evidence" that there's new MacBooks soon:

Future Shop stores (Canada) carry MacBook as a "web only" item (not in regular stock, but available through their web site); however, right now they have the MacBook $50 off (weird for them to be on sale) and actually *in stock* in all of their Ottawa stores. This is very unusual.

Also, Best Buy stores always have MacBooks available both in store and on their web site, but the entry level MacBook is no longer listed on the web site, and all the Ottawa stores are sold out.

The last time I saw something like this happen happen was with the 20" G5 iMac about 3 weeks before the 20" intel iMacs came out.

Smells like Apple is clearing out the remaining MacBooks to the big box stores. Prediction: new MacBooks within 3 weeks.

Well they also did this with their iBooks and Macbooks weeks before the Macbook Pro came out.

You mean to say that the MacBook were out before the MacBook Pro? ;)

boxlight,

Save your money for the next revision and I think you'll be much happier in the long run.

Meroms are transitional chips.

I would hold out for the Leopard powered 45nm Penryns and hopefully cooler running video cards.

You won't be happy with a Dell or the current MacBook, so just use your iMac
until the right notebook comes along.

Prediction: new MacBooks within 3 weeks.

Just have to gloat a little because I was so close. It was almost three weeks to the day -- three weeks and 2 days, to be exact.
