My 20" iMac C2D doesnt show any temperature sensors other than processor and no fan speeds in any program I have?? anyone else have this? Is it the new iMac/intel thing or is it just mine. The old G5 shows hundreds of temp sensors and fan speeds!

Core Duo Temp, Temperature Monitor, and the iStat widgets should be able to read your temperature.
Ja I got that! But there's only 1 temp sensor in the whole mac? on the processor? On the G5 there were sensor for incoming air optical drive...
There's only ONE temperature sensor that we can currently read due to registers on the Core Duo storing temperature information. Just dump the registers and the CPU temp can be read.
Wait for more software and updates for more system info. Yes, the G4 and G5 machines had MANY more readable sensors.
I dont think they'de short change us. Probably due to the new Intel architecture it's just harder to find the sensors. I wish I was a 1337 coder/hacker/programmer. Unfortunately I'm still stuck on non-GUI java for now but I'm learning!
I am pretty pleased that my 24"er runs at around 100 F most of the time...
however it is quite annoying that the fans are on all the time. Any way to turn these fans off? The low hum is quite annoying...

Dpnt know about "Many sensors in G5". Maybe you're talking ablot Power Macs? Because there are only 2 temp sensors in my iMac G5 rev. B - CPU and HD. Right now with Safari, iChat and Mail running my CPU temp is 72C, while HD is 49C. I dont know if its bad or not, but 100F (37C) in 24" iMac sound really cool.
If you somehow turn the fans off, your Mac will melt.

My iMac Processor Temperature is a Steady 34-36C (94 F) when on the Desktop, even when a few programs are open. (ie. iTunes, Safari, etc.). Seems to run nice and Cool compared to the G5 Processor.
Yeah I just downloaded it too. I'll consider buying myself a copy but it's fun to try it.
Hopefully the Guys who make the iStat nano and pro, will make use of these sensors sometime soon
I have Temperature monitor and im getting readings on my hard drive, mt optical drive, processor, etc. I dod not get them on istat nano or pro though. By the way, what temp should my processor be? Its all in celsius and im not sure where they should be.
