2500 Mail notifications

Hi yesterday I formatted my Macbook Pro and after formatting I opened my mail application. I entered my gmail account and now I have 2500 email notifications on the mail stamp on my dock. Is there any way to get rid of the mail notifications without clicking on each unread email?

Select all, then mark as read.
