Hi everyone.

Im gonna probably buy a new macbook pro and I will like to use it with a monitor for better office work. Im looking for a display similar to the one of the 27 inch imac. Im looking for monitors with 2560x1600 resolution. I found the Dell U2711, but found its back part to be very big, so It wont fit my desktop.

¿Do you guys know any other models with that resolution? ¿Or maybe a 24 inch display with that resolution?

Thanks for the help.

30" displays are the only ones that run that resolution.

You preferably wanna use a display that has display port because all other would require a $100 miniDP - DualLink DVI connector which is still buggy.
The only 30" display that currently uses DP is the Dell 3008.

The Dell U2711 supports 2560x1440 resolution and you might want to check out how a member at [Hard]Forum used his Dell U2711 with Innovative 7500-1500 27-Inch Deluxe Floating Flat Panel LCD Monitor Radial Arm in a dual monitor setup with his 27" iMac.

The Radial Arm may resolve your desktop size issue.

You could opt for the Apple Cinema 30" but you'd have to get the Mini DisplayPort to DVI adapter.

Get the 27" iMac..use the mini display port out of the Macpro into the mini display port iMAc.Stay away from the 30" ACD and Dell U2711...you will hate the matte screen textures.I always found myself looking at the screen texture rather than the image.
Exactly what I have.Macpro + Imac 27" i7

Thanks all for the help. I had the imac 27 but did not like the glossy screen. That was one the reasons I returned it. And Im afraid Ill get again the yellow tint issue.

The 30 cinema display is way too big for me. Im looking for 27 inch max and matte, not glossy.

¿Any other models?
