2600 & 8800 in the same MP

I have just purchased a "standard" Mac Pro but I intend to upgrade the video card when the 8800GT becomes available. I am using a 30" and a 23" Monitor and wondered if I can fit the 2600 alongside the 8800 after I have upgraded. I could then attach each monitor to a separate graphics card. Does anyone know if this is possible and also would it be better than connecting both monitors to the 8800.
