I am going to by a refurbished macbook pro. Apple is offering $100 rebate on a printer if you buy a computer. It seems reburbs qualify too. But they require sending back the UPC bar code from the boxes of both the computer and the printer. I know that refurbished computers do not come with the original box. Will it still come with a UPC bar code on the box?

Thanks.

yes. have done the refurb thing a couple of times. computers were always in standard apple packaging. looked just like getting a new computer.

My Power Mac G5 refurb came in the original packaging with a big bright green refurb sticker on the box.

A couple of friends have also received refurb Macs with the stickers on the original packaging. iPods come in plain brown boxes though.

Thanks all.

Just placed the order. A refurbished MBP 2.33 C2D for $1999

wow thats expensive for a refurbished mbp...i think

It is a C2D (the current version), not a CD. it's $500 less than the normal price, and $350 less than the edu discount. So I think it's reasonable.
