I just thought I would write a quick review on the Belkin Switch2 KVM switch. The website can be found here: Belkin Switch2

STD1_F1DF102P.jpg

The Switch2 is a basic KVM switch which comprises of a smallish connector to both PC's and the monitor and mouse / keyboard (USB). To make the product a bit neater the video cable to each PC contains all the cables which then branch out from the back of the connector.

The switch comes in two versions (wired and wireless), the operation doesn't change between the two! It is a small disc (as shown above) which has a bi-colour LED which changes colour depeding upon which PC is being used. Belkin software can also be used to activate the switch using a keybaord sequence.

Pros: If you want a simple KVM switch you can't go far wrong with this, it does exactly what it says on the tin!

Cons: When booting either of the machines when both have been off it does not automatically boot into the machine that has just been launched, i.e. you have to press the switch otherwise you will sit there looking at a blank screen. I also have a problem when switching to Windows, it takes about 5 seconds before I get any mouse response. Don't quite know where the problems lie with that one.

All-in-all, great product!

I will try and take a photo of my setup and post it later when it is a bit neater!
