I'm looking to pick up a used display either a 27/24" led. Can someone tell me what adapters I will need to connect it to my MacBook Air and any drawbacks other than the lacking thunderbolt?
Thanks

You will need the magsafe 2 adapter.

There aren't any drawbacks, but you might might as well consider something else like a Dell UltraSharp which is antiglare.

MiniDisplay Port to HDMI cable. (Unless the monitor only has DVI, then DisplayPort to DVI).

Apple doesn't have a genuine cable, but there are others that do. Belkin has exclusive products on the Apple Store site, but Amazon has a bunch, too.

My advise is to read the reviews starting the with 1 stars and moving up to see what issue they had. Sometimes, the negative reviews are with specific model monitors and not the cable at all.

Thanks for all the replies. I think I'm going to look for a 27" led apple display or a good deal on thunderbolt. 24" displays are still going for $450
