In the UK the price for the base model 27" 512ssd model is the same price as the 2TB Fusion drive model.
Which would be the best one to go for???

As always, depends on your needs. Although I think 256GB will get cramped very, very fast and is a poor choice for this machine. If budget is on your mind, go for the 2TB fusion. If performance, then go for the 512SSD. The flash memory is faster than the SSD included on the fusion and there won't be any swapping.

Sorry Sirmausalot I'm thinking about the 512ssd
Was thinking of gettin a 2tb external to store iTunes music folder and iPhoto library. And leave the 512ssd for everything else??? Will get a 4TB Too for TM backup.
Not sure the best way to go

512 SSD. Get an external drive for storage needs. Fusion drives are a waste of time and your money.

Thank you Razeus. I was wondering especially now the new SSD is 2.5 times faster than before
Yes, definitely the 512SSD. I was in the same conundrum until I read that the speed of the flash was now up to 2.5 times faster. Amazing. I posted in another thread, these are my favorite high performance drives. They are RAID stripped, bus powered (no cords) small and 4TB http://www.seagate.com/external-hard-drives/portable-hard-drives/performance/backup-plus-fast-hdd/
