I've recently purchased a late 2009 model 27" iMac which appears to have a boot error. It was apparently upgraded to Yosemite recently before being sold as faulty.
Core 2 duo Model.
when powered on there is a faint humming noise, some odd faint clicking and buzzing noises which stop after about 10 seconds. The humming continues as per a usual iMac.
The screen remains black with no indiciation of LCD backlight turning on, and there is no startup chime.
various key combinations on wired keyboards Have not worked, the caps lock light also does not turn on. (Multiple keyboards)
Wired 1 button laser mouse lights up in all usb slots.
The superdrive accepted a CD but we're unable to eject, by holding down mouse on startup, or with keyboard start up combinations.
Have attempted removing ram and restarting, multiple power ups, attempted PRAM reset.
Wondering If this is an issue anyone else has had and if there's anything we can try? Haven't tried a New osx install due to CD being in the superdrive (And not having an appropriate install disk
)
Computer was bought for parts at a reasonable price but would like to get it going if I can! Thanks for Any assistance
