27" iMac 2011 or 2008 MacPro?

I'm looking to upgrade to a new machine that can handle my video editing and motion graphic needs.

I took a lot of thought and my options laid out is to either purchase:

Refurbished iMac 27" 2.7 Quad-Core i5 - $1419

OR

Early 2008 2.8 Ghz Quad Xeon Mac Pro off of eBay - ~$900

What would be the better option? Reasons for looking upon the MacPro it's more upgradeable then the iMac and the specs seem to be on par with each other. Please help!
