Does anyone know the manufacturer that makes the screen for 27 inches iMac 2013? LG or Samsung?

yellow is good?i saw 3 27" displays and all are white when i put a white wallpaper
but seems that IR from last year are almost gone..or at least very few has it. It was about time that LG fixes the display problems

I just hope the display of the 27 inches iMac 2013 can hold up for three years. Reading this thread https://www.macrumors.com/2013/10/2...action-lawsuit-over-failing-27-imac-displays/ really got me worry about my new iMac. I cannot find a lot of information about image retention or flaws on the 27-inch screen for the iMac 2013. I guess only time will tell.

Did you get Applecare? Also, what country are you in? If you're in the UK, consumer law protects you for 6 years regarding faulty goods/manufacturing defects.

I think it's just one of those things... I have heard hardly any complaints about iPad's but I have had a iPad display fail on me (backlight broke on one side) and also had a dodgy replacement iPad which was essentially bricked (had that replaced too).

As long as you treat your products with care you should be fine and if anything breaks take it back to Apple.

I personally recommend keeping all packaging too... I literally unpack every piece of packaging of Apple products and put it all back in the box and in the loft - helped when I took my iPad in as it was 8 months old and looked brand new and makes it difficult for them to blame it on user neglect.

i dont think there are still that many 27" flaws like the ones last year. i know that in december already people were complain about the display

I am in the U.S. I am gonna wait until close the end of my first year to purchase Apple Care. I do keep the packaging for all my electronics.

Read other threads about 27'' iMac LG monitor problems (i.e. IR, light bleeding, yellowish, ghosting etc).

If I want to buy a new iMac, I will prefer the new 21.5'' iMac. There is only a small amount of reported monitor problems...this is also a LG monitor, though!

I think SAMSUNG is more reliable but APPLE decided to sign contract with LG for the 2012-2013 iMac monitors. I heard replacement parts are coming from SAMSUNG....I hope APPLE will replace all the defective monitors under warranty.
