The two models in the subject line can be purchased through MacMall for no more than a few bucks from each other (when using the AppleInsider coupon code), so I'm debating between these two and want to go with whichever is actually better/faster. I'll be happy with either one — the differences between a laptop and desktop don't factor into this decision.

The Macworld.com Speedmark 6.5 Score for the iMac is 227, which beats the 206 score for the MBP. However, the Geekbench scores I've seen tend to place the MBP around 10000 whereas it seems the iMac only scores in the 8000-9000 range, from the few I've seen listed so far. The seemingly opposite benchmarks have me a tad confused.

So, ultimately, which one is really faster and better to have for the long haul? I would assume the one with the i7 processor would be a bit more versatile than the i5.
