So I have the chance to buy a brand new in box 3.2 GHz iMac for $1,250. These retail for $1,700 at apple, but I was wondering if this model was really worth the price. I can get the 21" model for around $900 slightly used, and being a noob when it comes to desktops, I'm not seeing the inherent benefits of the 27" other than screen real estate. Someone please enlighten me- is this a solid buy? The refurb of this model is only $1,439, which seems low compared to the retail. Anything up with this model? Thanks

thats a very good deal. certainly worth it. You are right though, other than the larger screen size, there is no other real difference.

I would say for $350, 27" vs 21.5" is a no-brainer, go with the 27". Everytime I see the 21.5", I think how small it is.

Pull the trigger, don't look back.

P.S. Check to see if the box is sealed...

Great deals on both. I would suggest going out and playing with each to see what works for you. I think the 21 is a bit small and the 27 is a bit big, and the old 24" with the golden ratio of 16:10 was just right - at least for me
