I have a problem with a 27" 2011 iMac, the latest model. It seems to get a kernel panic or some other kind of problem often while rebooting.
Sometimes it gets a kernel panic while I hold down a key while it's rebooting (not while it's starting up, but immediately before it shuts down). It crashes sometimes after software update reboots. It got stuck on the Apple logo a couple of times. This time, when I turned it on, I just got a black lit screen. OK, after that, it booted up properly. It's random...
I ran the Apple Hardware Test; no problems found. Nothing found when I did a hard drive repair in Disk Utility; permissions repair found a few minor things and fixed them. It's not eligible for the hard drive recalls, though it did have hard drive problems with the file system being corrupted early on. I feel like it's sometimes a little unresponsive, but that might just be me imagining it. Is anyone experiencing a similar problem?
