27" Imac in 19.5" High Bureau

Hi,

I would really like to get a 27" Imac but the max height of the space in my bureau is 19.5" (1" to short).

I don't want to modify or screw anything to the furniture. A 1" shorter stand would be ideal.

Can anybody suggest any ideas?

I really would like the extra screen real estate of the larger monitor?

Buy a new desk?

Remove the stand and use a VESA mount maybe.

I just built a new desk unit to over come this very problem

You many need more than 1" as the iMac vent is on the top so it can't be blocked or you might cook your new iMac.

Unfortunately a new desk isn't an acceptable option...

Been looking at Vesa mount from apple but haven't seen any good stands yet...

Just be careful there is enough space above and below the iMac for the airflow.
