27" imac monitor versus 27" thunderbolt

Is the iMac's 27" monitor the same as the 27" stand alone thunderbolt monitor?

Is it just the framing etc. that is different or the "tube" is different also?
 
I don't have exact details, but I believe they are quite similar. The only difference I have noticed is that the color of my ACD is a bit cooler (as in temperature) than the iMac. I would assume this to extend to the ATD as well.
