I have a 30" NEC monitor and currently own a G5 PowerPC. I need an Intel Mac. I have a Dell laptop from work.

I've pretty much ruled out a Mac Pro. I could buy a 27" iMac and sell my NEC monitor about about $1000. I'm not thrilled about a glossy screen, but . . .

Then there is the mini or even an air. I like to run several programs at once - Office Suite, browsers with several tabs, Mail, and a few others including Aperture and Photoshop (part-time photographer).

Is the mini powerful enough for my needs, or should I get an iMac?

Another vote for the Mini.

It will be considerably faster than the G5 and fine for Photoshop and Aperture, although as mentioned I'd definitely go to 4GB RAM. Maybe even consider a small inexpensive SSD drive just to take the edge off that 5400 RPM laptop hard drive.
