So, since the rumors of the MacPro being discontinued I started to look at the possibility of building a professional solution around the iMac. Now our guys positively need dual monitors so the obvious choice (for me) would be to add one or two 27" external matching monitors from Apple. Having looked at this I have to say I am shocked that the monitors do not line up?! Whats the thinking here? How do you "dual" guys with similar setups get around this? I don't really want to put a stack of magazines under the external monitor! What on earth were they thinking with this design?

Any elegant solutions?

What about 2560x1*** non Apple monitors? :)
What's the point? The question was about lining up the Apple display and the iMac so they more closely match. A 3rd party display has nothing to do with it.
