I am planing to purchase a 27" imac to replace my 08' 20" imac & was wondering on the specs I should go for. The machine I was planning on going for was the core2duo version but after looking at the options you can add to the core2duo & the price it would cost, I was wondering if it was worth playing the extra £241 to upgrade to the i5 version rather than the cost to upgrade the core2duo's graphics, ram or processor?

Thanks & any advise is appreciated!
Harry.

It's impossible to say unless you give us a tip of your usage. Games, pro apps or just normal web browsing and emailing?

ahh yes I forgot that, I do the standard web browsing, mail, itunes ect. Then the more processor intensive programs I run are dreamweaver, photoshop, lightroom & a bit of imovie thrown in.

Core 2 Duo would be enough for you but if you have the extra money, get the i5 as it's over twice as fast as C2D and is worth every penny
