I want to get an Apple 27" LED Cinema display at work. I already have a 13" 2012 MBA. And I want to use the display as my second monitor side by side.

1. Do you think i would need an extra keyboard + trackpad if I use MBA and the display side by side?

2. Apple released the currently available LED display in 2011. Do you think Apple will release a new series of displays next year? so that I can wait and get the latest one.

3. My MBA has MegSafe 2 power port. The LED Display comes with MegSafe 1 power cable. Will MegSafe1 to MegSafe2 adapter be shipped along with the monitor or should I get it separately (which is about $10)?

4. Can my MBA power such a large cinema display with huge resolution?

I've got a 2012 13" MBP and a 27" Thunderbolt Display and they work perfectly together.

The TB Display has 2 leads coming off of it-MagSafe and Thunderbolt, both of which I connect when I get home.

I've also just ordered a Rain Stand, so I can use the 2 side by side and have the MBP as a secondary display to drag things over to.

And yes, full 2560x1440 works fine.
