I picked up a used Apple Cinema Display monitor 18 months ago to use with my 2015 rMBP.

Gorgeous display! Works fantastic but WOW is it HOT!! This is my second summer with it.

I've since hooked it to to a 2014 Mini running Ventura (via OpenCore Legacy Patcher). I actually move the cable back and forth between that and the laptop when needed, not too often but it's an option for me.

When I decided to use the Mini with it, I moved the Mini from under my desk. So WOW that's HOT too 🔥 (the laptop can get hot too 🥵)

I also have a 24" Dell that's barely room temperature.

I will probably be getting an M4 Mini and have seen more of the same monitor listed locally for decent prices. I've love to replace the Dell but not sure I can handle the heat.

Are there others that aren't as volcanic? That will work with the M4 Mini (which I've read can also be hot). Either way I'd be running 2 screens off it.
Thanks!

Assuming it is the Cinema Display that looks identical to the Thunderbolt Display, the glass is held on by magnets. You should be able to pop it off and blow the dust out of the internals. Should help reduce the heat.

Really?! I had no idea. It's the 2010 model and I do think it looks like the Thunderbolt Display.

Are all the large displays like that? Great in the winter but not so fun in the summer!
