27" monitor for new MBA ... recommendations please!!

I'm getting my new MBA over the next few weeks, and I need a decent monitor to use in work. Monitor size should be around 27", and my budget is $400-500.

I'm a university postgrad, and I'll be using it for Internet research, Word, etc ... no photos/videos or gaming etc.

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
