I have two PDF files and I want some really easy way to make them one - first page of second document will be after last page of first document.

And I don't want to paste the documents to Pages or something stupid like that - I just want some easy way, some plugin / program. Is it possible?

And of course, Automator... takes ten seconds to make the workflow, and then it has the advantage that you can create it as a contextual menu plugin, etc. :)

ditto. Thats what I use to combine PDFs. & Best of all, its free! (And its included with your Mac)

Oh... didn't think of that... probably the easiest way, and probably a very easy one for any first time users... :)
Thank you very much, I will try some. It will help me a lot.
No problem... do try the Automator approach, too... just ask if you need any pointers...

I assume you don't have Acrobat Pro? if you do, that's the best and easiest way to do it: File>create PDF>from multiple files.

I'm an Automator newbie...

I created this with an "Ask For Finder Items" action sending results to the "Combine PDF Pages" action. I want the results of that to pipe to a "Save As..." dialog so I can save the combined pdf file. I don't see a built-in action for doing that. Am I missing something?

I found a great PDF+PDF widget. It is simple and works great.

I zipped it up, hopefully it installs. Maybe just drag it to your Library>Widgets folder. The site seems to be down right now.

Thanks, but that doesn't answer my question, and I've already found apps for combining PDFs (PDFLab is another one).

I was really looking for an answer to how to get a "Save As..." dialog in Automator. That just seems like it would be generally useful.

Would you mind explaining how to do this in Preview?

Sure. Open one PDF in Preview, then open the Sidebar. Drag one or more additional PDF files into the Sidebar. You can rearrange the pages by dragging the page thumbnails in the Sidebar if necessary. Save As... and you're done!

Wow, that's easy. Thank you so much! Now I don't have to open Acrobat just to do that. Yay.:p

Preview is RGB only

just make sure NOT to use Preview if you are combining CMYK pdfs for prepress. merging CMYK pdfs and saving the merge with Preview will murder your images by convert them to RGB pdfs. Preview can not handle CMYK color space.
