No problem. It's even on my FF bookmark bar. :)

But be warned. I've had some troubles getting FF to convert a video all the way. Switching to Safari does the the trick.

No sound

I have the same problem with the convertion comming out but with no sound.... Any hints?

wondershare video converter works with a watermark... thinking of buying it but really.... a free one anywhere?

Perian + QTAmateur rocks for FLV to iMovie

Perian + QTAmateur.

Thanks, jackerin! Perian + QTAmateur is an excellent combination.

I downloaded a bunch of FLVs from YouTube and wanted to mix/edit them in iMovie. The first converter to try was VLC (File -> Streaming/Exporting Wizard), which did a decent job 60% of the time (12 out of 18 files). The trouble with the remaining files was:

a) totally messy checkerboard effect in many parts of the clip (3 files)

b) jerky motion, i.e. smooth movements converted to back-and-forth jerkiness (2 files)

c) error in processing the file, conversion not finished (1 file)

I tried with different MP4 and H.264 settings in VLC but no success. However, Perian + QTAmateur converted all the files properly, so they run smooth and clean in iMovie.

I've been using mac flv to mp4 for a while. It does pretty much everything I've needed. I use it alot and would recommend. It's a very useful conversion tool, that also converts video to flash. Good luck with your work. Free trial if you want to give it a go!
