I will be getting the Snow Leopard ($29 version) in couple of days with my new 320GB Seagate hard drive. So, does anybody know whether it is possible to install Snow Leopard to clean hard drive or do I have to install Leopard 10.5 first? I'm using late 2008 MBP.

I installed my $29 copy of SL on a clean 320GB HD without any issues.

You first need to format the disk in disk utility and then you can install it.

Was going to post this question. I have 10.5 on my MacMini. Came with it. I got the $29 upgrade disc tonight. However, I want to format the drive and do a clean install rather then upgrade. Want to make sure I won't have any issues.
