i just ordered this charger to use with my iPhone X. Has anyone used this with their watch? Don’t want to ruin my watch.

You could technically use the Apple Watch Magnetic Charging Dock and plug in a USB-C to Lightning cable. The charger runs in 5W/1A mode so it should work.

The charger is 29w off of a Mac. The X can use them to charge 50% in 30 min.

The watch will not be damaged by any of the high wattage chargers, however unlike the newer iPhones and iPads it can not take advantage of the higher charge rate and will still charge at the same speed as smaller, less powerful chargers.

Increased wattage won't help charge faster when it comes to the Apple Watch. It'll still only pull what it's built for. While it won't hurt it, it also won't speed things up for you.

The Apple Watch charges fast regardless. Helps that it has a small battery to work with.

Also it is a 29W adaptor. All charger circuits are located inside the device (watch, phone, MacBook, car, etc.). The charger (inside the watch) decides the amount of power allowing into the batteries, not the adapter.

I realize that it won’t. I did NOT buy it to charge that mainly but for my X. All I asked was would it hurt the watch to use it. The point being on a trip I don’t want to have to carry 6 difference chargers.

You asked a question, several people including this poster answered nicely. Sometimes all that's need is "thanks."

You don’t seem to understand what I have written.
5A 1A is one of the modes it runs in (like the charger you get with the Watch), so yes, it will work just fine provided you can attach the Watch charging cable to it.

That got me to looking. It looks like a usb-c end may be different than a plain usb cable.

Yes, and that is why I suggested. The Apple USB-C to Lightning cable and then the charging stand for the Apple Watch uses Lightning to connect to a power source.
Otherwise you would have to use a USB-A to USB-C adapter for the Apple Watch charging cable.

I’ll most likely bring the iPad charger too as I always bring a backup cause first time you don’t is when the charger dies and no where to get a quick replacement. Especially overseas where the plugs are different.

As a frequent traveler I have a Dopp that is always ready to go. Besides the usual suspects I keep an iPad charger a lightning and micro USB cable and a sim ejector tool. i recently added a spare watch charger to my dopp. now, I pack all my charges any way but its always nice to have a backup incase i forget.

I have a pouch with all the cables and a small 5 port charger that will charge 2 iPhones and two watches all at the sametime
