The digitizer (as well as midframe) pieces from the iPod touch 2G will fit in an iPod touch 3G? I haven't read anywhere that they won't, but does anyone know for sure?

Thank you for posting this thread, I'm needing to know to, incase I have to replace my 2g touch.

I ordered the 2g digitizer, and it does NOT fix the 3g iPod touch (32 and 64 GB) the connector is different.

It depends. The 8GB model of the 3g, is the same as the 2g models. However, the 3rd generation 32 and 64 GB models, come with a remote, and have a built in microphone.
The microphone is not built-in on any of the 8-, 32-, or 64GB models; it is only available via a headphone dock connector accessory.

The 32GB and 64GB models are bundled with headphones with an inline remote and mic. The 8GB model still comes with the plain headphones.
