2g battery won't charge up all the way. Anyone have any ideas on how to refurbish battery life?

Does it have iOS4? Maybe a restore, a new battery.

The device uses an internal battery meter to keep track of the battery state. However, it is only an estimation and during each charge/discharge cycle the meter goes slightly out of sync.

You will need to fully drain the battery and recharge. This should reset the meter.

If this doesn't work you're battery has reached the end of its service life and you will need a new one.
