2G call connection problem after unlock?

alright so i jail broke and unlocked my phone with ziphone with firmware 1.1.4 and from that point on ive had problems with people always complaining that when they call me its a long pause(15 sec) before the phone would ring on there side or it would ring 5 or 6 times on there side before it rang once on my side... I never heard of this happening before so i figured something must of happened during the unlock and when i update and re-unlock it would fix it.... well i updated to firmware 2.1 and unlocked with quick pwn and i have the same issue but now when i call out sometimes it takes 10 15 sec for it to connect on my end..and the phone seems to lag and i have no apps installed, i notice the lag more so in text message more then anything though....... I just would like to know if this is normal......My phone has a broking screen on it now because i dropped it and apple is gonna sell me a new one for 200 and i want to know if the connection problem is normal if so im not purchasing a new phone(Im sick of everyone bitching that my phone take to long to connect)...Thanks Again
