iPod 2gen nano recording?

Yeah i heard somewhere that you can record on the 2 gen nano. But i think you need and external thingy lik the radio for it to record. if that the case, does anyone knows the lin kto the apple store or the price of such external device? i looked of rit on the store but i couldnt find it.
