I have 1gen touch 8G, just bought 2gen 32G.
On setting up the new one I selected the option to set up as new ipod instead of bringing up from backup. One of my apps wouldn't install as it was for 2.2 os and the new touch was pre-2.2. Then the new one updated to 2.2 but cannot install the new app (which is installed for my old touch). Also, of course I've lost network settings and client settings for a few apps. So what I'd like to do is go back to square one and start again, register it and upload the backup from my old touch to pick up network and app settings etc. How can I do that ?

Also - is it advisable to do a full discharge before charging again ? I can find no advice on this in the docmtn (there was that advice in the doc for my first touch)
