Hi, I am thinking of getting the 2 grand mbp. I am going to be a business administration student next year and i am planning on using that computer till i graduate. Do you think it will last that long and the technology in it is enough? I just listen to music on itunes surf the web watch videos and do presentation, papers etc... And occasional gaming of course

do you think apple's technology amd quality is enough for 4 years? I dont want it to get broken or i dont want battery lasting for an hour or two after four years.

Thank you i really appriciate your advices and responses . I need some advice :)

As long as your not excepting to play the latest and greatest games that are going to be released 3-4 years from now, you'll be fine.

Future proof and technology do not belong in the same thought.

I agree. You can't use Future proof and technology in same sentence as there is no such thing ;)

Any Core 2 Duo is fine for you, check out refurb store if you want to save $

Hell, I have a $500 Macbook from '06 I'll sell you that will be more than perfect for those tasks you listed.

this question the OP asked applies to every 15"/17" MBP sold, reguardless of the year.

Nothing is future proof. Will it work in the future as it should. Yes. My 2.5GHZ isn't obsolete yet. It is 18 months old.

Oh yea these computers will be never obsolete.

if your a student, use the education discount. and get the cheapest 15 in mbp, if thats what your set on. There is no point in buying the midrange one. For your uses most likely
