2K Sports this week released 'NBA 2K14' for iOS, the latest version in its popular basketball video game franchise. The app contains updates to player rosters and stadiums for the 2013-2014 NBA season, along with Game Center support with multiplayer and Bluetooth integration. The game also contains a multi-season mode and updated commentary for the new season, and features refined intuitive multi-touch and one-finger control.

NBA 2K14 is the latest installment of the world's biggest and best NBA video game franchise. With more than 38 Sports Game of the Year and "Best Of" mentions last year on console, 2K14 is set to rule the virtual hardwood on iOS. This year, we've joined forces with the league's most dominant force: LeBron James. NBA 2K14 will raise the bar, yet again.

The app is also notable for offering no in-app purchases, with every team and feature in the game accessible upon full purchase. NBA 2K14 is a $7.99 download for the iPhone 4 and up, iPad 2 and up, iPod touch 5th generation and up along with the iPad mini, and can be downloaded through the App Store. [Direct Link]

It is simply amazing how advanced these phone games are becoming. That looks at least original Xbox quality in terms of graphics. I have not played any of these bball games, do they have full control? On screen control pad and buttons?

I wish it was $5, don't now why, but $7.99 seems a lot for an iOS game to me.

Can't wait to see someone whine about how high the price is.

Oh, here they are already.

Does anyone remember how much crappy used games are at GameStop? ~$15 for a used copy of M&M Racing? I'm sorry, but half that price for an actual game that isn't just some bizarre marketing stunt just doesn't seem like a bad deal to me.

Not that I'll be buying it. I don't like sports games. Plus I don't have any money to waste on entertainment.

Just wanted to apologize (sincerely) for my snippy attitude earlier about the name, it was uncalled for.

2K14 makes sense, considering all things.

I see you haven't been to GS for a longggg time... I recommend you go pick up 2 for $10 PS3/360 REAL full titles.
I also said to me, a real gamer not someone that doesn't play games like you.

They have to eat.
They can still eat at $5 :p

Anyone have it? Is it even any good? I have NBA Jam which is amazing... not sure how a bball sim would be on a small device.

I picked up a used copy of Rayman Origins for the Wii earlier this year at a GS for $20. While browsing I came across a used copy of M&M racing for $15. I didn't pick it up, I just remember finding it and laughing that such a thing existed (and that, furthermore, someone bought it for presumably a price of at least $30.)

Other than that, I received a Wii U with Pikmin 3 and Zelda Wind Waker HD a week ago as a gift. I've been playing Pikmin 3 when I have spare time on my hands. I'll probably pick up Rayman Legends later this year since I finished Rayman Origins and thoroughly enjoyed it.

I'll probably pick up StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm when the price drops.

So, depends on your definition of a "real gamer" whether I am one or not. If I had a lot more free time (and money), I'd probably play a lot more games. As is, I've got a lot of debts to pay and spend most of my time trying to get the money to cover those.

Aw man I was all fired up and had my pitchfork out but then you had to go and apologize.

Great. No more free-to-play IAP craps. I want to support this model but I'm not really into basketball games...
