2nd Display Port monitor

I am going to buy a 2nd monitor (most likely a Dell with display port)

2 Questions.

1. Will a display port cable from 2011 iMac to Dell display port monitor work?

2. Will a thunderbolt cable from 2011 iMac to Dell display port monitor work?

You will need a mini DisplayPort to DisplayPort cable to connect your iMac to a Dell monitor which has a DisplayPort on it
