After reading this Macworld article about the 2nd Gen ATV being sought after,

http://mobile.macworld.co.uk/digitallifestyle/news/?newsid=3354357&olo=rss

I decided to put mine up for sale on ebay to see the interest. Well I've just sold it for £170.

Seems that the 3rd gen ATV is proving hard to jailbrake, which in turn is increasing the value of the jailbreak able 2nd gens.

I myself have no interest in jailbraking, and have plenty of 1080p content i haven't been able to watch in all its glory. Going to be purchasing 2 new ATV's with the money I have made back.

So if anybody has 2nd gen ATVs they want to upgrade from, now is a great time to do it.

Jailbroken ATV2's have always sold for more, non-jailbroken ATV2's on an iOS version that you can jailbrake have always sold for more, and now with the fugly interface - ATV2's on the old interface are selling for more. Since these are no longer shipping, they are becoming harder to get by which increases the price additionally.

So it's not just "any" ATV2 that will sell for a lot more than you'll get an ATV3 for.

[doublepost=1463848400][/doublepost]I just got my cousin's older Roku 3 to replace my Apple TV 2nd gen. Since I don't need 2 devices which device should I sell and for how much? Is the 2nd gen ATV still a desired item in 2016?
