2nd monitor for MBA 11"?

Hi,

I was just wondering if anyone uses a 2nd monitor for their MBA 11", does it help with productivity? I wanna use my MBA for reading text and maybe a 2nd monitor for outline or making mind-maps.

Also which size and refresh rate is good? DVI or HMDI? I saw a 120Hz one but not sure if the MBA can handle it.

Well, what can you afford? There are a ton of monitors out there, greatly varying in size and price. What is your budget?

The new Dell U2412 is a really good display for around $350. Good resolution and the previous models (U2410 and U2411) got good reviews.

And it's got a full-size display port on it, so you just need a MDP -> DP cable. No need to bother with dongles.

If i have a 1080P movie file, can it play it on the 120Hz monitor to make it look like the 120Hz TV? Like soap opera style.
