I have a Macbook Pro 5,4 that currently has an Intel 320 120GB installed. I have been forced to put all my media on an external HDD. Going back to school, I will be forced to use Microsoft Office more often because of my major. I am considering using both Boot Camp and Parallels with a Windows 7 (home Premium) partition on a 2nd drive thus removing my DVD drive. I know the SSD is going to cost considerably more given my huge amount of media (150GB) combined with a new partition, but it doesn't seem practical to cripple myself with HDD speeds while using Windows. Hoping some of you have insight on whether to install an SSD or HDD, and what kind of performance/battery life issues I may run into.
Appreciate any advice.
Edit: Another option. If I bought a 256GB SSD to use for OS X and put my old SSD in the optibay solely as a Windows 7 drive, would that work?
