Hi everyone,

I am having difficulties finding the improvements/differences between the 2nd and 3rd generation of Apple Watches Optical Heart Sensors.

Is it solely the addition of ECG functionality or has the accuracy also been improved?

Thank you, guys.

PS: I am trying to figure out if the heart sensor accuracy is the same between the Series 8 and the 2nd generation SE

I assume 3rd Generation Heart Sensor means blood oxygen monitoring. The first device to have the 3rd generation was the Series 6. Series 5 included ECG functionality but is listed in the tech specs as having a 2nd Generation Heart Sensor.

Heart rate accuracy is probably pretty similar between second/third.
