2X 4GB RAM Upgrade

So I think I might have made a mistake.. not quite sure yet.. haha. I just purchased 2x 4GB RAM to put in my Mac Pro from OWC. I have a Mac Pro from back in 2006.

Does anyone know whether the 4 GB sticks will cause any problems?
OWC's website said the type of RAM that I got will work in the first gen models.

The manual says that you can install 1GB or 2GB sticks, but doesn't mention the 4GB (I'm guessing because of the 16GB limit)
I really should have looked at that first.

I haven't received the RAM yet, but would I have problems using the 2 4GB modules?

I think you can trust OWC with that info. RAM DIMM design progressed from 2006 and we now have DIMMs which were not available at the time the Mac Pro was conceived. THat does not mean that the chipset memory controller cannot handle those new DIMMs.
