2xdual core vs 1xquad core

Anyone know if the new Pros offer any significant advantages over the previous line? I was debating between picking up a deal on ebay for a 2xdual core, vs. configuring a brand new one with one quad core.

It really depends on what your going to use it for.

The performance of the two is going to be withing 10% as far as raw processing power, other intangibles such as warranty or "latest and greatest" feelings will me missed with a used model, but if your on a budget and can get it for 1800-1900 it would be a reasonable deal

Thanks for the input. I'm going for the deal and buying a 2xdual core 2.66Ghz with 3 GB RAM for $1800 in Craigslist. I figure its a pretty decent value and the system should run pretty well for web dev stuff and dabbling in video production.

if you're doing memory intensive apps, get the new MP. it's memory controller is WAY better than the original's.
