I thought they just removed it for the betas, but now how are we supposed to actually force quit, short of force rebooting?

I think the iPhone auto quits apps that crash now, i think i have seen it happen once or twice now.

There were a couple of instances on the various betas when it froze in apps and I had to reboot as I couldn't force quit. I don't believe I've run into that auto quit function other than apps shutting down because they're not compatible with 3.0.

To force quit an app in 3.0 you have to hold down the sleep/wake button until the "slide to power off" screen comes up. Now hold down the home button as you normally would before, and this should force quit the current app.

Awesome. This works perfect. Thanks!

much more cumbersome. if you jailbreak and use sbsettings, you can quickly terminate a process using the "processes" button. this is what I plan to do.
