3.0: Safari/Latitude to Run in Background?

Latitude keeps updating your location... Will Safari in 3.0 run in the background (I think prior to 3.0, it runs in the background because in Sbtoggles it shows under "processes running") so that Latitude can auto-update every few mins or whenever?

Any ideas?
