Is the $300 upgrade from 2.8 to 3.06 worth it?

will I see much difference??

I do a lot of hd video editing and image processing.

Thanks!

How long are you going to keep the computer. It's not really worth it to most users, but those that rely on the machines for audio/video processing might need the extra speed boost. It's probably better spent on upgrading the ram, or at least putting the money towards that.

I will probably keep the computer for about 2 years or so and i currently have a 2.2 ghz

The performance boost is less proportionally to system cost.

That being said, time is money.

That being said, if you're professionally rendering video, you should be doing it on a mac pro.

Personally I sprung for the 3.06, just because I keep computers a long time and also I -hate- second guessing how much faster it "could" have been when I'm waiting on something to render, etc.
