3.0GM and Orange Sim

I have an old first gen iPhone and I'm looking to put 3.0 on it. I unlocked it a while ago but its no longer jailbroken after an upgrade in iTunes but the phone still reads the sim no problem even though it's not o2. Would the 3.0 update break this or will it still work fine but obviously without any jailbroken apps.
