I'm wanting to upgrade a 3GS that has never been jailbroken before, from 3.1.3 to 5.1 but since the latest redsn0w will only work on previously JB phones, I was wondering...

Since 4.1 is still being signed, is there any way to upgrade a previously non-jailbroken 3GS from 3.1.3 to 4.1 and preserve the current baseband??

Was thinking if I could do that, I could JB that with limerain, then use the latest version of redsn0w to go from 4.1 to 5.1

Thoughts? Or any other suggestions?

Sorry, ignore that - problem solved.

The "enable baseband" option was grayed out in pwnage so I thought it wasn't possible to preserve and update. Turns out it was grayed out because it preserves by default where possible.
