I don't even use tethering but it could still come in handy one day. Since 3.1 breaks the tethering hack, should I just go ahead and get PDANET now? I guess we also have to see if AT&T will figure out a way to charge people who still use the tethering hack or for those who use PDANET.

I don't think the issue is if they can figure out who is tethering, but rather, do they want to start charging people for it.

I am not well versed in this, but there have been several good threads here about AT&T knowing the difference with iPhone data use and tethering.
