For video editing, it seems like the best way to go MP is to get the base model and upgrade to the 3.2 hex rather than buy the 3.3 hex from apple. It seems like this is the sweet spot right now. Any sage comments?

Price for performance, I would say yes. This is best way to go. I went with the base model myself but then upgraded to a 3.46 Hex (W3690). It was the same price as the 3.33 CPU but either of these are at least $350 more than the 3.2. The only advantage to going with a 3.33 or 3.46 is the 1333MHz DDR3 support and the 6.4GT/s QPI speed.
