Hey!

I'm just about to buy my first mac but I'm a little unsure which of the following models to go for.

3.2 i5
GT755
1TB Fusion

Or...

3.4 i5
GTX775
1TB Fusion

Originally I was just going to go base spec but for the sake of £150 (or there abouts) I'm wondering whether the 3.4 GTX775 would be the better option?

I'm not planning on using the machine as a workhorse or using it for extensive video editing but I did want to play the odd game and want to make it as future proof as possible (My HP desktop is over 8 years old and still going strong).

Will there be much difference between models?

Is the 3.4 GTX775 worth the additional premium?

Which would you go for?

Thanks
Alex

Hey alex, for your needs if you can afford to buy the 3.4Ghz with 1T fusion drive and 780M, i think you better get the 780M and no fusion drive

if you play some demanding games from 2012 till 2015 yes it is a future proof.

you need the extra core speed, extra vRAM, and the extra memory speed

Thanks for the info, definitely something to consider.

I'm guessing the i7 bump is less important?

for your needs yes i7 is less important. I just ordered yesterday a 27" 3.4Ghz, with 1T fusion drive and 780M. So do the same :)

i like fusion drive ..i still have the late 2012 21.5" imac with fusion drive...but with the 2013 27" model should be over 30% faster overall than 21.5" fusion drive late 2012 model
